Sweet sleepy baby

I know, I know, we've broken every rule in the book! The AAP would deem me unfit if they knew all the pillows and blankets and stuffed animals this little boy curls up with every night. He sleeps just like his momma and papa, with lots of props. Oh, and can you count how many times his name has been embroidered on these props? We're getting an early start with him since his name will be more challenging to spell than Bob.

Six Months

Strother turned six months on the eighth of this month. He's marked this stage with some great turning points in his development. He LOVES to eat food. I've not tried anything yet that he absolutely refuses, though he'll eat avocados more slowly than vanilla yogurt. He's been rolling around for about two weeks now. Strother loves to roll back and forth on our bed in the mornings. It's like baby rollerarobics! I'm sure he's not far from pulling himself up, but I'm in no rush to see that. He put on some weight at his last doctor's visit. He weighs 16.5 pounds (45% of his age group) and is almost 27 inches (70%). Just like papa, long and lean! Sleeping has improved incredibly the past few weeks. He goes down for his naps all by himself (i.e. no rocking from mom) at 9:30 and 1:30 (just like the books want him to!) and has been sleeping from 9:00 pm until 7:30 am. HALLELUJAH!! Mom is a new woman with all this sleep! Did I mention he was fun too? I mean really, this kid smiles ALL DAY LONG. He laughs and giggles and is just the most fun adventure Darin and I have ever encountered.

Marty joined us in music class last week. Strother was especially pleased to show off his Marme.

He had fun playing at AuntT and Uncle Joe's house last weekend. He was the center of attention as he tried his first tres leches cake and then gnawed on an orange the rest of the evening. He prefers health food I'm sure...

We're just having a ball with our little one. If we ever have another child, I apologize to him or her now, he/she will never have as many photos taken or be blogged about nearly as often as sweet Strother!

Oh, and no teeth yet! Whew, this nursing mom is glad about that!

New Orleans Part 2

New Orleans

Strother is a great traveler. To be honest, he prefers first class, but he's accommodating.

Next time Mom, get me a King sized bed. This feels cramped!

Papa is so much fun to play with. Can we stay in the hotel room and not go out on another walk?

Fun walking with mom in New Orleans.

Playing with H

More fun in the park with the Beadles. They are becoming best buds. You can tell by the way they like to wack each other in the face.

First Wedding

Strother was a champ at his first wedding this past weekend. He played and smiled all night. He's such a social little guy.

Funnies

Darin found this in the paper last week. We laugh every time we read it. It's so applicable to our lives!!

New Post Finally

Strother Norman (hello, pay attention google searchers...) has not often been blogged about lately. Let's play catchup!

Uncle Lee visited a few weeks ago. They got along like old buddies. Strother will ask all the time, "Where's my favorite Uncle Lee?" Or at least he says, "Mamamamama," which could be easily confused.

Jim Norman aka Big Dad was honored by All Saints Hospital. Strother was sad to miss the event, but mom and dad were excited to dress up.

Papa, Big Dad and Uncle Lee look so handsome!

The family was so proud of Jim. We are all so honored to be part of his honorable legacy.

Gimme that camera, I want to eat it too!

Hello, you look like a giant version of my favorite stuffed animal. You smell like perfume so I'm not fooled by your ploy to cuddle.

Easter egg hunting with the cousins. Strother can not wait to chase the kids around in search of treasure laden eggs.

Our favorite Nana Rehfeldt shows Eavens how to enjoy the "hunt."

Finally, a post Anne Maddox would be proud of... POO! We have a 50% accuracy rate so far. That is, Strother grunts and fifty percent of the time I swipe off the diaper and hold him over the toilet until he poos. It's fun and entertaining and somewhere somehow good for the environment. Enjoy!
