Saab sold

The car sold today in record time. That was so fast and painless, I'm thinking about going into the car business. I'm too slick not to. Sorry to see it go. No one ever said having a baby meant driving a bad ass car. Oh well.

Want a car?

The Saab is for sale for the low low price of $1995. Act now and you could recieve a special internet discount of $500 off the asking price. Tell your friends, tell your enemies! This sale won't last so act quickly!

New Car

Darin and I bought the official parenting mobile this weekend. The Saab is on the chopping block if anyone is interested (it's a classic!). If the color of our new car is any indication of what our baby will be, our child will definitely be a democrat!! HA!

Almost 12 weeks

Still two pounds under my pre-prenancy weight. But I feel so flabbually and blucky. I have a bit of lower back pain. I go to a Mom's in Motion swim class at Harris Hospital. It's a great time to share all these strange goings-on with other moms. Most of the girls shared my grief over the back pain, even early on. It's great to hear other's similar stories.

Back in Fort Worth

I've recovered well from two trips to Paris sandwiching a trip to St. Thomas with my friend Naomi. We had a grand time on the island, though somehow managed to avoid proof of the sun (i.e. no tan on me!).

Dinner atop the mountain (our "date" with the pilots, Peter and Joz), no chardonnay for Blythe:

Poolside with Naomi, no rum punch for Blythe:

Back to Work

I'm heading to Paris tonight. I enjoy my time there so much, but I know I've been so exhausted lately that I don't think I'll see much this time. Friday, I'm tagging along on a trip with my friend Naomi to St. Thomas. She has a two day layover there so I thought I would take advantage of the free hotel room with her. We'll be big hard core partiers, you know, in bed by the crack of 8 pm and all. Beach time should be nice. I don't think I'm going to try to snorkel. That sounds absolutely nauseating right now. I guess Baby Norman will be truly used to airplanes by the time he/she gets here. I'll try to take some photos from the island. No guarantees that I'll publish my flabby looking self though.

Fred's Fire

Darin and I joined Michael and Line Wilson last night at Fred's Cafe for some burgers, beer and live music. It was so crowded outside on their patio, we ate inside the restaurant. Packed there too. Just as we were finishing dinner, our waiter shouted, "Everybody GET OUT, there's a fire in the kitchen, leave now, I'M NOT JOKING." Sure enough, a large grease fire was taking over the grill and we all got out just before the ceiling caught on fire. Three minutes later 6 fire trucks showed up and put out the fire, but not before it destroyed the kitchen. Too exciting. The Fort Worth Star Telegram did not do the excitement justice, but I found the Fred's Cafe web site to be absolutely hilarious (the "heated patio" was not a pun!). From what I understand, they'll be open next week for patio burgers and next month for the restuarant. I'm sure we'll be back there too, we owe them for our dinner tab.

Frozen Travels

I'm in Oslo right now. It is literally 1 degree Fahrenheit here. I took the opportunity on this layover to sleep tons and tons. I even ordered room service which is unlike me. I feel great, hungry but great. I'm looking forward to getting back to the warmth of Texas and my sweet Darin. I've been thinking a lot about baby names lately. Darin found a crazy fun web site called NameVoyager. It's been fun doing the research for unique names here. We are taking suggestions, but not necessarily listening to them! I personally can't wait to find out what my friend Caitlin will name Baby Echasseriau. They know the sex and the name, but they won't share until he/she is born. What a mystery. She's an adorable pregnant chick:

Back in Texas Wednesday night. Appointment with Dr. Watson Thursday. I'm looking forward to more good news. Good night!

It's a boy! Or a girl!

The rumors are true. Darin and I are due October 14th. I'll update next week after the sonogram. Right now I'm eight weeks and so thrilled about our new adventure!
